On November 15, 2021, the first meeting of experts, managers, principals, teachers and accountants from the teams of the partners of the “Changing with the Climate” project – 7 schools and 2 non-profit organizations, took place. The meeting was held online through the Zoom platform due to the complicated epidemic situation related to COVID-19.

The project is being implemented under the Environmental Protection and Climate Change Programme of the EEA-FM for 2014-2021, which aims to improve the environmental status of ecosystems and reduce the effects of pollution and other human activities, as well as to contribute to the overall objectives of the EEA-FM for 2014-202, which includes reducing economic and social disparities in the EEA countries and strengthening bilateral relations between the donor countries – Iceland, The Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway and the Republic of Bulgaria.
At the meeting, the partners, leaders and lead experts within the project working group were introduced. Additional information was provided and project activities were discussed. Participants were briefed on the main requirements for the implementation of project activities and the guidelines of the financier on administrative and financial management and reporting. Upcoming regional meetings with representatives of partner schools and local communities were discussed.
The implementation of the “Chaning with Climate project” will be based on active partnership and exchange of good practices between Secondary School “Tsvetan Radoslavov”, Svishtov, beneficient and leading organization at the project, Secondary School “Konstantin Petkanov”, Burgas, Primary School ” St. St. Cyril and Methodius “, Vesselinovo village, Primary School “Nikola Vaptsarov”, Razgrad, Primary School “Nikola Vaptsarov”, Berkovits, Secondary School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, Belitsa, Vocational School of Agriculture “BUZEMA”, Environmental association “For the Earth” and Friends of the Earth – Norway. The main goal of the project “Changing with climate” is to organize a large-scale campaign to raise the awareness and competences of the Bulgarian public on the pressing topic of climate change, will determine the lives of our children, as well as to create educational resources for use by a wide educational audience.
